A Buxton man who stole meat and laundry items from two town centre shops has been spared jail.
Christian Harrison was seen on CCTV taking meat from Marks and Spencer in Spring Gardens on March 7, High Peak Magistrates’ Court heard.
And three days later, on March 10, police were called to the Co-op in Spring Gardens after a theft there, prosecutor John Cooper said.
Laundry items valued at £27.58 had been taken with Harrison being identified as the thief by staff. Harrison was found on Granby Road with the items.
The 28-year-old, of Boarstones Lane, admitted two counts of theft from shop as well as failing to answer bail and failing to comply with the requirements of a community order.
John Bunting, defending, said Harrison admitted taking around £60 worth of meat from the store.
He was jailed for six weeks, suspended for 12 months, and given a drug rehabilitation requirement.
