Sunshine Nursery School, based at Gisbourne House, was visited by the education watchdog in April and the report has now been published.

A previous inspection in 2011 rated the Buxton Road nursery as ‘outstanding’ and these standards have been maintained.

Inspector Lynsey Hurst said: “The manager is inspirational and the children are self-motivated and enthusiastic learners.”

The report notes the manager is “extremely knowledgeable and highly motivated” which ensures children receive “superb care from the well-qualified staff team”.

The quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding and it was stated that the staff were “attentive and well-deployed”.

Ms Hurst said: “This helps children to improve their concentration and perseverance skills.

“As a result, children display a strong eagerness to learn.”

Staff are described as “superb role models” and “children are happy, relaxed and move very confidently within the nursery”.

To further improve, the nursery must review the implementation of the planned organisation of routines.

Manager Kate Sebire said: “This is fantastic and we have worked really hard to stay outstanding. I also think Ofsted liked we are not just a term-time nursery anymore, but now support parents all year.”
