Station Road in Furness Vale is to close for five nights to allow resurfacing work to take place.
From Monday July 18 until Friday July 22, the road will be shut between its junctions with Ladypit Road and the A6 Buxton Road.
The closure will be in operation between the hours of 7pm and 6am each night, during which a diversion will be in place via the A6 and the A6015 in New Mills.
A spokesperson for Derbyshire County Council said: “Access will be maintained whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road.
“The road will reopen as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised.
“Derbyshire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused while work takes place.”
The work had previously been scheduled to take place in April.
