Rescue team aids collapsed woman in the Peak District

A young woman who collapsed while out walking in the Peak District was aided by Buxton Mountain Rescue Team.

A joint call for both the Buxton and Edale Teams to Edale on Thursday afternoon following reports that a 23-year-old had taken a turn for the worse in an area known as Bungalow Corner, in Grindsbrook, on the lower slopes of Kinder Scout.

The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance was first on scene and the crew had become increasingly concerned for the young woman welfare who was suffering a severe asthma attack.

Team personnel responded urgently to the incident scene and the casualty was evacuated quickly by stretcher to the waiting air ambulance aircraft which had managed to land nearby.

Emergency treatment was ongoing as the helicopter took off for the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.
