The colourful creation was raffled at the group’s Christmas lunch at Lea Wood Hotel. Proceeds of approximately £200 will go to the Acorn Children’s Hospice Trust. In the last year Acorn has supported more than 760 children and more than 980 families.

Penny Taylor, pictured right, won the quilt and Nina Thompson won a quilted cushion, both made by U3A’s Patchwork 1 Group.

The lunch was organised by Dan Blunt and Robyn Hardman who are also pictured.
