TESCO will be consulting on its plans for the current site of Nestle’s water bottling plant in Buxton at an exhibition next week.
The public consultation event takes place at the Palace Hotel from 2pm to 7pm on Thursday, February 17.
The exhibition will detail how Tesco plans to create a supermarket, leisure, public space and community facilities on the Station Road site. Nestle want to build a new bottling plant at the edge of town.
Matthew Magee, Tesco Corporate Affairs Manager, said: “Since our first consultation in December we’ve been working hard to get the plans right for Buxton. We’ve really focused on the architecture of the store, as well as how we encourage as many people as possible to walk from our free car park into the town centre, making sure that all businesses in Buxton benefit from the bigger footfall.
“We’re very grateful for the input we’ve had from people in Buxton so far and I hope more people can come and have a look at the plans next week.”
Members of Tesco’s project team will answer questions on the proposals and will have computer images of how it would look. Residents will also be able to comment on the plans before an application is submitted later in the year.
