Project to help clean up litter in Buxton

Litter is taking over on the streets of our town so this year Buxton Town Team is calling for volunteers to help put it in its place.

Team member Karen Beresford is organising a monthly litter pick on the first Sunday of every month at 11am for approximately two hours.

The first one will be on Sunday February 1 for anyone concerned about the rubbish-strewn state of Buxton’s pavements.

Karen said: “We live in a beautiful part of the country and it would be so much nicer if everyone could be a little more thoughtful about what they do with their litter and respect the environment to keep the town looking nice for all of us.”

Bags, disposable gloves and litter pickers will be provided, so volunteers just need to turn up with enthusiasm and sensible shoes.
