Producers of Buxton’s White and the Seven Dwarfs pantomime are looking for 30 juvenile performers to appear as dancers and play the dwarfs.
The pantomime’s juvenile chorus, led by West End choreographer Sally Brooks, has earned high praise from critics and audiences and the show’s reputation now attracts young hopefuls from throughout the region.
In addition to local dancers, last year’s production of Aladdin featured youngsters attending stage schools in Chesterfield, Leek, New Mills, Macclesfield and Stockport, all eager perform on stage at the town’s stunning Grade II listed theatre.
The show needs 30 juvenile performers aged between 9 and 15.
Auditions will take place on July 24 at Buxton’s Pavilion Arts Centre but the registration deadline is July 15.
There will be a weekend rehearsal from October 14-16, then rehearsals will run intensively from November 17 until December 9 before the show opens on December 10 for a three week run, ending on January 1.
Performers will need permission to miss some days of school and during the show’s run and a small contribution towards expenses will be payable for each performance.
All dancers must be more than 4ft 8” in height.
