BEFORE any development takes place at the Dorma site in Chinley, action needs to be taken to address ongoing issues for residents in Whitehough.
Rob Thompson, addressing parish councillors in Chapel-en-le-Frith, said: “My wife and myself and next door neighbours, whilst totally supportive of the idea of development of Dorma, believe there are issues outstanding.”
He said there were issues over the drainage from the site which had led to ongoing problems resulting in flooding in certain areas of the hamlet.
Highlighted were the lack of pathways and the difficult access to the site on Forge Lane.
Mr Thompson said: “The other issue that comes up is how big this estate is going to be.”
He said the proposed development would increase the size of the hamlet by 350 per cent.
Councillors in Chapel are to discuss the issues at a meeting of their planning committee.
