Police are appealing for information after a Buxton vehicle was targeted by vandals.

Sometime overnight between 7.30pm on Thursday, October 15 and 8.45am the following morning, offenders used a sharp object to scratch alongside a blue Vauxhall Corsa, causing damage to the paintwork.

The rear tyre of the vehicle was also slashed as it was parked on the driveway of a property on Ferneydale Avenue in Harpur Hill, Buxton.

The following night the same vehicle was further damaged after rocks were thrown at it.

PC Anna Woodhouse said: “This is mindless criminal damage and I would urge anyone with any information about the incident, or who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the Ferneydale Avenue area, to contact us.

“I would also encourage residents to remain vigilant and if they do see anything out of the ordinary to contact us on 101 so that we can help to stop a crime from happening. Together we can bring those responsible to justice.”

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact PC Anna Woodhouse on 101, quoting crime number 44526/15 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
