Poetic Buxton pupils talk springtime to elderly

Youngsters brought the joys of spring to residents of a High Peak care home when they showed off their creative writing abilities upon a recent visit.

A group of children from Fairfield Endowed Junior School visited the Branksome Care Home, in Buxton, to read the residents poems that they had written themselves on the subject of spring.

The day was part of the Branksome’s ‘Wishing Well Extravaganza’.

A spokesman for the school said that both the children and the residents enjoyed the day immensely and the two generations had plenty to say on the subjects of poetry and springtime.
