A young man dislocated his shoulder as he tried to take a picture of the 'plughole' at Ladybower Reservoir this morning.
East Midlands Ambulance Service and Edale Mountain Rescue Team (EMRT) were called to the incident shortly before 11am.
An EMRT spokesman said: "A young gentleman had dislocated his shoulder while scrambling above a steep precipice trying to get a picture of the 'plughole' at the reservoir.
"He was fortunate to arrest his fall before going over the edge - a 50ft drop.
"Team members were rapidly on scene and set up a safety rope system, protecting the casualty and the kind and daring members of the public who had gone to his aid.
"A team doctor was able to relocate the man's dislocated shoulder and he was stretchered down to the waiting ambulance."
