A new fitness studio could be coming to Buxton.

Plans have been submitted to High Peak Borough Council to convert an empty unit on Staden Lane Industrial Park to a new workout environment.

Applicant Callum Sully of PT Corner Ltd said the proposed changes would create two jobs.

In a supporting statement to go with his application he said: “Whereas a traditional gym is open for use throughout the day and users can drop in and exercise on their own accord, the fitness studio will be used solely for personal training.

“There will be no heavy electrical equipment or weights, only some light dumbells and some smaller types of equipment such as floor ladders and plastic hurdles.”

The unit is not allocated for employment development but is located within a Primary Employment Zone as identified by High Peak Local Plan.
