Pills discovered in play area

Police are on the look–out at a children’s play area after some pills were found by a member of the public.

Some white pills were found in the playground of the Pavilion Gardens, in Buxton, on Wednesday, July 3, by a member of the public who then threw them in the bin.

Police received a report from a witness who described the pills as looking like paracetamol. A spokesman for the police said the Buxton Safer Neighbourhood Team had been made aware of the discovery and were keeping an eye on the area.

A spokesman for High Peak Borough Council, which runs the gardens, said: “We are aware of the incident and, whilst there is no suggestion that this is anything other than a one–off occurrence, our staff are being vigilant.”
