There were smiles all round as gin connoisseurs raised a glass to celebrate the return of the Gin Society to Buxton’s Devonshire Dome.
Back for its second year, the day-long event welcomed people for a day of music, laughter and, of course, gin.
Shelagh Bourke, from the Gin Society, said: “It was an absolutely lovely day and a great success.
“There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and everyone was there to have a good time.
“Being in such a stunning venue there was a sense of grandeur in the Dome and people dressed up as if they were going to ladies day at the races which was so nice to see.”
Approximately 120 gins were on offer to try at the May 5 event, as well as master classes from 11 distillers and a look into the murky history of gin.
Vintage tunes and Lindy Bop dancers also gave the event a unique twist.
Shelagh added: “Gin is very on trend at the moment and that’s because there is something for everyone. If you don’t like the classic dry G&T there are fruity ones and different mixers.
“It was great to come back to Buxton and share our love of gin with some wonderful people and we would love to come back again next year.”
