Wands were ready as hundreds of witches, wizards and muggles flew into the Devonshire Dome for the second Harry Potter-themed convention.

The Philosopher’s Dome returned on Saturday and delighted Potterheads old and young with interactive potion classes, talks and signings from actors in the movie franchise and chance to ride a broomstick on a green screen.

Organiser Steven Howard said: “The talks were brilliant, each actor was given a slot of 30 minutes but people were asking so many questions that the actor who played Gregory Goyle, Josh Herdman, his talk went on for one hour and 20 minutes which is great.

“The fans were getting a real insight and learning things they didn’t know about the making of the films before.”

The props made the event extra magical as people could pose with, the Weasley’s spider-covered Ford Anglia and even the headmaster’s chair. team of in-house cosplayers brought the famous Lord Voldemort and his gang of Death Eaters alive and many attending the event were also dressed up.

Steven added: “The only downside was because the weather was so nice we sadly had less people than last year.”
