The High Peak’s original comic book convention UniCon is back... and looks set to be the biggest yet.

It will be held once again in the Devonshire Dome, Buxton, on Sunday May 13, between 11am and 4pm.

Organiser Steven Howard said: “We are back and although we didn’t think it possible to get more in, we will be putting on our biggest event to date.”

There will be photo prop opportunities including four Star Wars displays, as well as Monster’s Inc Boo’s Door and the Joker’s Cell.

Regular favourites such as Kitt from Knight Rider and the A-Team van will be making a return, and there will a chance to snap yourself with costumers and cosplayers including Batman, Captain America, Iron Man, Spiderman, Deadpool, Baymax and the Ghostbusters.

Steven said: “For the first time we will have the Tardis Photo Booth Display with us where for £5, you can get a photo keepsake with the Tardis, Davros and K9.

“Pokémon Go fans can look forward to four PokeStops loaded all day so there will be lots of Pokémon to catch.”

There will be famous faces from both TV and film giving talks and holding signings. They include Mark Dexter of Red Dwarf, Ross Mullan of Game of Thrones and Doctor Who and Peter Roy of Star Wars, Dr Who, Harry Potter and James Bond.

Steven added: “It’s hard to produce a sequel but I think this one, with a few extra surprises on the day, will be awesome.”
