The Junior Friends group raised £1,000 through coffee mornings, throwing water bombs and offering glitter tattoos. The group was awarded the maximum £2,000 donations from Tesco's Carrier Bag Community Grant scheme after the slide project received the most votes from shoppers at the Whaley Bridge store.

High Peak Borough Council has provided the remaining £4,400 for the slide. The play area was refurbished by the council in 2014 as part of the Heritage Lottery funded investment project.
