Tributes paid to 'beautiful' Chesterfield manager who died in Peak District crash

Tributes have been paid to a charitable woman with a ‘positive attitude to life’ who died in a crash in Derbyshire.

Police were called to the B6012 at Beeley at 5.20pm on Sunday after a collision involving a motorbike and a Toyota Rav 4.

The motorcycle rider, Tina Clifford, sadly died at the scene.

Tina, who was aged in her 40s, worked for Chesterfield-based Rykneld Homes as its customer services manager.

Paying tribute to her, Lorraine Shaw, Rykneld Homes’ managing director, said: “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Tina who was a key member of our staff.

"Her enthusiasm and positive attitude to life and work were inspirational for her colleagues and Tina will be very much missed by us all.

“She was a tireless campaigner for charities and, with the help of her team, raised thousands of pounds for good causes – both local and national.

“Tina was committed to achieving the best for our organisation and over the past 18 months helped us achieve national recognition for the quality of our customer care and helped steer us to attaining the Customer Service Excellence standard.

“Our thoughts are also with her husband Steve and their families at this very sad time.”

In a public post on Facebook, Paula Yeates described Tina as ‘beautiful’.

She added she was ‘the most loving and giving person I have ever had the honour to call my friend’.

Heartfelt messages were also left on our Facebook page after the tragedy.

Alexis May Hammett said: “Absolutely heartbreaking. My heart goes out to all the family.”

Mary Watts added: “Very sad. RIP to the young lady.”

Following the crash, police arrested a 27-year-old Matlock man on suspicion of drug-driving.

He was subsequently released on bail.

The road was closed between Pilsley and Rowsley while officers from Derbyshire Constabulary carried out investigative work and it reopened just after 11pm.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the collision should call police on 101, quoting reference 992 of July 26.
