Podiatrists Jack Wynne and Kennedy Brankin took their colleagues by surprise when they popped into Newholme Hospital, Bakewell, straight after their marriage ceremony.

The couple, who met working for the podiatry team at Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust, had to change their original wedding plans because of the pandemic restrictions on large gatherings.

They tied the knot with two witnesses at Bakewell Registry Office and then went to surprise NHS colleagues, turning up in their wedding outfits to announce the good news.

Jack said: “We are now the fourth married couple in the podiatry department. Both our folks are chiropodists as well.”

Jack is a senior divisional podiatry manager in Derbyshire, who has also been involved in the pandemic response work for Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust over the past few months.

Kennedy is a specialist community podiatrist and manages podiatry rotas in Chesterfield and north east Derbyshire.

She has been extra busy too during the pandemic, ensuring patients continue to receive the care they need alongside her colleagues.

Jack said: “I’m Land Rover mad but I bought this just when Kennedy and I got together.

"We have had many adventures together in ‘Linda the Land Rover’.”
