Minnie Me Nursery based inside Little Rascals in Fairfield has had the grand opening of the £1,000 wooden structure and nursery owner Nicola Leah says it will bring so much benefit to the children over the years.

She said: “This great space has already been a McDonalds, a home and a caravan as the children are using their imaginations to create a new world.

"It gives us somewhere the children can play outside and offers a shelter on rainy days or a quiet space for the younger ones away from the more boisterous children who can run and walk confidently.”

The nursery, which used to be in the scout hut from 2009 moved into its current home in 2019, and like many places has felt the effects of the testing year.

Nicola said: “During the first lockdown we were shut for a few months as we didn’t have any key worker children but since then we have stayed open and it has been tough as we haven’t been given the testing or PPE that other places have but we have made it work.

"This new outside space we have created is a positive step, yes we have had a difficult year but it shows we are always looking forward and looking for ways to better what we can provide.”

Nicola added: “We are here to support the children and families of Fairfield and we love being part of the community.”
