High Peak CVS receives hero award from MP for coordinating community response to COVID-19

High Peak Community & Voluntary Service (CVS)was nominated by members of the public for a High Peak hero award for going above and beyond to help residents this year.
The awards were launched by Robert Largan MP in April to provide greater recognition for those people who have supported others during the crisis

Hide AdMr Largan said: “I have received a huge number of nominations and it has been wonderful to learn about the efforts of some truly extraordinary people.
“High Peak CVS coordinated local charities’ responses to the pandemic, and continues to support the vulnerable access the essential services they need.”
He added: “Many have found themselves isolated from family and friends during recent months, and the work of those like High Peak CVS in keeping us connected is vital.
“Through the countless messages of support I have received, I know just how much they have done for the people of High Peak."

Hide Ad“The staff and volunteers have worked tirelessly over the last few months in difficult circumstances, along with all our charity partners, groups, volunteers and members, to deal with the challenges that come with COVID-19.
"This award means so much to us all simply because it was through nominations from the local community and those that we look to support.”
He added: “Thank you to everyone that took the time to nominate us and congratulations to all those winners that have and continue to receive their awards.
