The family scavenger hunt and teens photo scavenger hunt is taking place on Saturday.

There will also be socially distanced arts and crafts for children. Fairtrade will be running a pebble hunt with Easter prizes and Being Outdoors Forest School will also be showing forest crafts.

All of the events are free, and are being organised by Youth Matters New Mills, a new not-for-profit group working with other community groups in the town to provide a coordinated youth service for young people in New Mills.

Running from 11am to 2pm, the events are taking place at Beard Crescent Park.

Other events the group are planning as lockdown restrictions ease will include an art and craft club for primary school age children at St George’s Parish Hall and a youth drop-in with a range of activities to choose from.
