A pedestrian has died following a collision with a car outside The Ladybower Inn on the A57 at Bamford.

Robert Humberstone, 68, of Sheffield, suffered fatal injuries after the collision with a Honda estate car at around 9.25pm last Wednesday and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for several hours which caused traffic disruptions.

Derbyshire Police are appealing for witnesses to call 101. It is the second fatal crash in a week on the A57, known in parts as Snake Pass.
