Peak District B&B is one of the friendliest in the UK
An Edale bed and breakfast establishment is celebrating after picking up an award at a special ceremony.
Julia Reid, from Stonecroft Country Guesthouse, collected her award for being a finalist in the AA Friendliest B&B Award.
All the winners were nominated by AA inspectors who rate more than 2,000 B&Bs throughout the country.
The annual awards were presented during a ceremony at the London Landmark Hotel on Monday.
The awards up for grabs included Guest Accommodation of the Year for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, as well as the awards for Unique Bed and Breakfast, Restaurant with Rooms, Friendliest Bed and Breakfast and the B&B Story Award.
A spokesman for AA said: “Stonecroft Country Guesthouse offers guests a truly special experience as owner Julia caters for all lifestyle diets.
“After being diagnosed Coeliac herself, Julia trained and started catering for coeliac and other allergies and has Gluten Free Accreditation.
“The atmosphere at Stonecroft is welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much bother to make sure that every guest’s stay is as close to perfect as Julia can make it.”
Julia said: “I am delighted to be recommended, let alone to be a finalist. It is recognition of everything that is important to us, to be friendly, welcoming, to make our guests feel relaxed and at home.
“We have many guests who return again and again.”
The winners received their award certificate together with an engraved Villeroy and Boch decanter for all their guests to see.
Glenegedale House on the Isle of Islay took the overall award for AA Friendliest B&B.
