Pavilion Gardens train is now running

The miniature train that runs through the Pavilion Gardens is now back on the tracks following essential maintenance work.

The news was announced on Twitter today, Sunday, September 4, that the ride was back.

Located at the centre of the Grade II listed visitor attraction, the popular miniature railway takes visitors young and old on a circular tour of the gardens.

The train usually operates during the school holidays and at weekends, but has been out of action for months.

However, High Peak Borough Council said last month the return was imminent.

Special fabricated brake blocks have been delivered and are now waiting to be fitted, a spokesperson added. The ride costs £1 per person for two circuits, with under-threes free.
