There were celebrations at St Thomas More School in Buxton this morning with every student achieving a GCSE pass.
Ninety-nine per cent of year 11 students achieved five or more GCSEs while 80 per cent achieved five or more A* to C grades. And 74 per cent achieved five or more including English and maths.
Headteacher Brendan Hickey said: “This year group have been superb and, in spite of issues with the quality of some of the exam marking, they have achieved some outstanding results.
“A third of all our students achieved three or more A or A* grades.
“Some performances of note should include, Grace Bullivant and Ewan Kilpatrick who each achieved 11 A/A* grades, Lucy Boardman, Jessica Ward-Clark, Thomas McKee and Helen Thornhill who achieved 10 A/A* grades and Leah Babington and Kieran Connell who achieved 8 A/A* grades.
“Congratulations to all the students and to the staff, parents and governors who have supported them through the last 11 years of their education”.
