Saturday’s Buxton Rocks live music event has been cancelled, organisers have announced.

The summer festival was due to take place at Level 2 nightclub on Saturday.

Top tribute acts Viva La Cold Play, Motorheadache, Small Weller, REM UK and Loyal Blood had been due to perform, alongside local acts such as The Indieannas, Groove Cake and Cracked Vinyl.

However, a post on the Buxton Rocks Facebook page this morning (Thursday) reads: “It is with much regret that we have to announce Buxton Rocks 2016 will not go ahead, we are sorry for any inconvenience.”

Organiser Chris Buckley added: “We will return to our usual venue the Pavilion Gardens in March, and already have an excellent headliner booked in from the USA.”
