On Friday, January 10, I stupidly decided to drive home from Bakewell in the ice and snow, up through the wood past the golf course.

It did look so beautiful but I should have realised that the water which pours down the hillside had frozen hard.

Consequently, my car swerved 45 degrees right across the narrow lane. If it had not been for Mr Hattersley, and a lady dog walker, I would have been stuck there for a lot longer.

Thank you both so much, and apologies for my reckless stupidity!
