Letter: Funding is all for a good cause

As a Whaley Bridge town councillor, I was surprised that no mention was made in your recent article about Whaley Council’s contribution of £512 to Taxal Scouts following their recent request to us.

As a council, we have an annual fund which we can distribute to worthy causes within the town. Because two of the scouts involved live in Whaley Bridge, we thought it our duty as councillors to help towards their funding and in doing so, hopefully inspire other youngsters in our community to also fulfill their ambitions through hard work and endeavour.
