Buxton Opera House has launched a new website to make it easier than ever before for audiences to find out about upcoming events.

The redesigned site went live earlier this month and is proving successful so far.

Emma Oaks, the venue’s head of marketing, said: “We are delighted to unveil the new website. It’s been specially designed to make finding out about your favourite shows and booking tickets as easy as possible.

“Most importantly, the website is now mobile friendly, so you can book tickets quickly and easily when you’re on the move too.”

The website features an redesigned calendar, which makes seeing new shows available each month simple.

If users want to know if there are any events of a certain genre such as music or comedy, they can type that in the search box and a list of those shows be created.

Emma added: “We’ve also introduced a FAQ section. If you’re a first time visitor you can find out all those little things that will make your trip a bit easier, like what time you should arrive and where to park.”

Under the Visit Us section users can find tips about visiting the theatre as a family or group and theatre access information.

There is also a Support Us section where people can find out to get involved in the venue’s parent charity and its community initiatives such as volunteering, coffee mornings, corporate sponsorship and a cash lottery.

The web was created with Birmingham web developer Supercool, and also includes a timeline of the theatre’s history and photo galleries highlighting its decorative features.
