The Snowball Club based at Chapel Primary School, on Warmbrook Road, was visited by the education watchdog and the report has now been published.

Inspector Jane Rushby said: “The manager and staff team have worked together to address the weaknesses raised at the last inspection. This has led to improvements in the quality of the provision.”

Staff were described as positive role models and it was noted children engage in many activities that help them to cooperate with others, share and take turns.

Ms Rushby said: “Children are polite and behave well, listening and responding to adults and each other appropriately.”
The report noted two-way partnerships with the primary school teachers help to ensure ‘continuity of care and learning’ for all children.

The inspector said: “Partnerships with parents are good. Parents are fully involved in all aspects of the club.”

To further improve the report said Snowball Club should develop systems for monitoring staff performance, offering opportunities to discuss and extend knowledge of best practice and promote children’s thinking and support own ideas.
