Nominate voluntary groups for award

THERE is still time to nominate your favourite local voluntary group for The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the MBE for volunteer organisations.

The Award was created by the Queen to mark the Golden Jubilee in 2002 and recognises the outstanding contributions made to local communities by groups of volunteers.

It’s hoped the 2012 Awards will attract more nominations than ever, to help celebrate the Award’s 10th anniversary and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee next year.

Nominations can be made at any time throughout the year but for those wishing to be considered for the 2012 Award, forms must be received by 30th September 2011.
