Night-time crash leaves car hanging perilously over edge of notorious Derbyshire road

A car was left hanging perilously over the edge of a notorious Derbyshire road after a night-time crash saw it smash through a wall.

Three young men escaped unharmed after the car ploughed into the drystone wall on the A57 Snake Pass in Glossop at 1.45am.

The vehicle was left balancing between the road and a 40ft drop.

Firefighters pulled the car back from the edge.

A spokesma for Derbyshire fire service said: “We’d like to remind people to take care when driving on country lanes in the dark, especially when the road surface is wet.”
