Youngsters reinacted the Battle of Troy on a recent visit to a museum.

Year five children from New Mills Primary School visited Manchester Art Gallery where they were treated to a workshop designed to enhance their ancient Greece studies.

Greek myths, gods and goddesses were brought to life by the huge paintings and the children were fully involved in the story telling too, taking on roles mythical figures including Athena, Aphrodite and Zeus.

The afternoon saw an opportunity for the youngsters to explore some of the other exhibitions on show at the gallery before heading back to school on the train.
