A housing developer is preparing to seek planning approval to build up to 120 new homes in Buxton, the Advertiser understands.
Persimmon Homes has entered into pre-application talks with High Peak Borough Council, in advance of submitting a formal planning application for outline consent.
It is understood the development is being earmarked for a 6.5-hectare site to the west of Leek Road.
“The proposed planning application is expected to seek outline consent for the erection of up to 120 dwellings (with all matters reserved except for access), with associated open space and the realignment of part of Macclesfield Main Road and the associated junction with Leek Road,” correspondence received by the borough council state.
“It is expected that the scheme will include a varied mix of detached, semi-detached and terraced properties and will also make provision for 30 per cent of the total housing on site to be affordable housing.”
