Buxton Opera House is holding open auditions on Sunday, June 11, to find juvenile chorus members for its Christmas pantomime production of Sleeping Beauty.
Choreographer Lily Howkins will be leading the session, having taken over from Sally Brooks who has left the company after five years to pursue a career in teaching.
Earlier this year Lily won acclaim in the national press for her work on Stiles and Drewe’s family musical Honk! at London’s Union Theatre.
Her other work includes The Tinderbox at the Charing Cross Theatre, The Blues Brothers Xmas Special at the Arts Theatre, a music video for the Guillemots and three pantomimes for the Greenwich Theatre.
The auditions will be held at the Pavilion Arts Centre, and Lily will be looking for 20 dancers aged nine to 15, over four feet eight inches in height and with strong technical ability.
Applicants can download a form from www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk or call 01298 72050.
For any questions about the audition process, parents should contact CTP Pantomimes on 01963 362937.
