New business park planned for Chapel-en-le-Frith

The business park would be located at Town End, where the newly adopted Chapel Neighbourhood Plan has set aside land for employment use.

Chapel Parish Council is working with High Peak Borough Council to bring forward development to safeguard jobs and encourage new businesses to grow and to invest in the town. Working with specialist consultants Business Design Partnership Ltd (BDP), a masterplan has been drawn up to show how the business park might work.

The public can see the proposals and have their say at a public consultation event to be held at the Town Hall, Chapel-en-le-Frith, on Wednesday March 23. Staff from BDP will be on hand between 4pm and 7.30pm to discuss the proposals and answer any questions.

Councillor Tony Kemp, Deputy Leader and Executive Councillor for Regeneration at the borough council, said: “The High Peak is a good place to do business and these proposals will help ensure that we have suitable space for new enterprise to start-up and for established companies to relocate or grow their existing business.

“We’re also working with East Midlands Chamber to explore the best way for the business park to support a cluster of small, knowledge-based industries by offering a business incubation and development programme designed to nurture skills and provide help for start-up enterprises.
