Ladies have bared all to raise money for a charity in memory of a fallen Buxton hero.
The girls from Buxton Golf Club did the full monty in front of a camera in the bid to raise £10,000 for Help for Heroes.
Mr Captain’s Calendar Girls has been made in memory of Scott Taylor, the Buxton marine who died in Afghanistan in 2010 and was a junior member of the club.
Amanda Guess, who came up with the idea, said: “It was very brave of the ladies to do because we have never done it before.
“It’s very tasteful but it’s also racy.”
The ladies managed to get professional photographer, Simon Watkinson, to do the calender for free. The majority of the pictures were taken inside the club house and golf–related props were used.
Amanda continued: “A lot of the people I asked to take part in the calender said yes straight away – when you say what it’s for people are happy to help.
“The only hard thing was narrowing it down to 13 ladies.”
Amanda’s husband, Pete, is club captain and he chose to support Help for Heroes because he used to run the junior section so knew Scott.
She added: “I want to give a big big thank you to all the ladies who did the calender shoot because we couldn’t have done it without them.”
Amanda also gave her thanks to the Simon the photographer and the two helpers on the day, Sharon Meylan and Kelly Pointon.
The calenders will cost £10 each and will be launched at a special event on September 14.
Anyone interested in sponsoring the calender is asked to call either Sharon on 07791701568 or Amanda on 07854667836.
