A 54-year-old mountain biker has died after falling up to 80 foot (24 metres) at Laddow Rocks, north of Crowden, on Sunday.

Kinder and Glossop mountain rescue teams were called out to Black Hill, and spent more than six hours trying to rescue the cyclist, from West Yorkshire, who was out with friends.

Neale Pinkerton, of Kinder Mountain Rescue, said: “Unfortunately the rider did not survive the fall. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to his family and friends.”
