Motorists warned over A6 road closures at Disley

Drivers are being warned to allow extra time for their journeys ahead of two planned closures of the A6 through Disley.

The A6 Buxton Road is scheduled to be shut between 7pm and midnight on Friday October 27, and again from 5pm on Saturday October 28 until 5am on Monday October 30.

The closed section will be between the junctions of Jacksons Edge Road/Buxton Old Road and Albion Road at Newtown to enable road resurfacing and other associated works.

A signposted diversion will be in place via the A6 Buxton Road, A523 Macclesfield Road, A523 London Road, A523 The Silk Road, A537 Buxton Road, A54 Macclesfield Main Road, A53 Leek Road, A6 Buxton Road, and vice versa.

A spokesperson for Cheshire East Council said: "Access for residents and businesses will be maintained when possible and safe. Local businesses remain open as usual."
