Cheshire East Council is being asked to consider a change of use application for the ground floor and basement of premises at 22 Market Street.

Plans submitted on behalf of applicant Lauren Booth state the new venture would supply cask and keg ales, craft beer, artisan lager, traditional cider, wines, spirits and soft drinks.

There would be seating for approximately 25 to 30 people.

“Research undertaken from microbars in neighbouring localities has revealed that residents of Disley have travelled to visit their establishments as this option is not available to them locally,” planning documents state.

“I believe that with the excellent public transport links available in Disley, a business of this type would attract visitors and increase footfall in the village which would benefit not just this bar but other businesses in the locality.”

At least two new full-time and two part-time jobs are expected to be created.

The applicant has previously applied for planning consent to launch the venture in alternative premises at 59 Buxton Road in the village.

The deadline for comments is March 8, with a decision by Cheshire East Council expected later that month.
