Micro pub plan for Chapel-en-le-Frith

A new micro pub could be on its way for drinkers in Chapel-en-le-Frith.

Plans have been submitted to turn an estate agents on Market Street into a micro pub.

Two letters of support have been submitted to High Peak Borough Council, one of which stated: “Micro pubs are a refreshing change to the traditional pub, they are free to source their ale with no restrictions and can use local breweries, which in turn keeps the local economy growing.

“There is a big following for this type of establishment which will definitely bring in business from out of town like me, all in all a very good idea.”

The second said: “A micro pub would be well-suited to Chapel Market Place, as the first of its type for the town.

“It’s refreshing to hear of a new business of this type, instead of yet another pub closure.”

Currently there are no letters of objection. A heritage statement deemed the building low significance.
