Richard said: “Wow, it was brilliant. I couldn’t believe it, what a shock and an absolutely wonderful feeling.

“We are planning to spend our winnings on some home improvements.”

Money raised from the MegaBucks draw goes towards improving facilities at the Silverlands club and on its community programmes.

Richard added: “Get your hand in your pockets, you’ve got to be in it to win it and the football club is a great thing for the town,” he said.

“This summer we are planning to change the current grass pitch for an artificial pitch, a decision we didn’t take lightly, but we recognise this is an important step forward for the club as it will increase usage from four to six hours a week to 50 to 60 hours a week.

“Our aim is to engage with people of all ages, boys and girls, men and women of all abilities and get them involved in sport.”

n MegaBucks players must be aged over 16. To join, call Andy on 07817 494310 or pick up a leaflet at The Tarmac Silverlands Stadium.
