Police have confirmed that a man’s body found in the Goyt Valley yesterday (Saturday) is that of missing Buxton man Tim Frohwein.
Officers, assisted by mountain rescue teams, had been searching for Mr Frohwein, a Chief Inspector in Chesterfield, since last Sunday.
His body was found yesterday by friends of the family who had volunteered to help search for him.
Derbyshire Constabulary said they would like to recognise the efforts of the immediate members of Tim’s family, particularly his sons who organised and co-ordinated searches.
They organised family and friends to search parts of the Goyt Valley that had not yet been formally searched.
Mr Frohwein, 48, was found on the Grouse Moor and the two men who found him immediately notified officers who were nearby.
Derbyshire Constabulary offered their sincere condolences to his family.
