Man is knocked out in dog attack

POLICE ARE appealing for witnesses after a man was allegedly assaulted in Buxton.

The incident happened at around 6.30pm on Monday, October 24 near to The Prince of Wales pub on Fairfield Road.

It is thought the man, a 23-year-old from Buxton, was attacked by another man and a dog.

The dog jumped up at the victim, who was knocked over and rendered momentarily unconscious.

He suffered cuts and bruising to his head and legs and was taken to hospital in Stockport for treatment.

Police are particularly keen to trace a woman who called out to the offender to stop.

l A MAN has been arrested after a Landrover Discovery was stolen from Castleton over the weekend.

The vehicle was taken from a car park at Speedwell Cavern between 2.25pm and 2.43pm on Sunday. Police later found the vehicle in Bamford and a 30-year-old man was arrested.
