A cyclist is expected to make a full recovery after severing an artery when he fell off his bike.

The incident happened at Chapel Road, Hayfield, at 2.40pm on Sunday.

He is currently being treated at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester.

The man, who is in his 20s and from Manchester, was in a critical condition but is now stable and expected to make a full recovery, Derbyshire police said on Wednesday.

Police and mountain rescue teams attended the incident.
