Lost walkers get hypothermia after losing their bearings in the Peak District during 46mph winds

Edale Mountain Rescue Team were alerted that three people had lost their bearings on top of the mountain at 6.23pm yesterday (Tuesday, August 25).
The group of walkers initially called the police after they realised they couldn’t make their way down and were located at Nether Tor.

Hide AdEdale Mountain Rescue Team arrived at the scene 25 minutes after they were first called and provided the group with shelter and insulated clothes to protect them from 46mph winds and rain.
Despite the previous sunny spells over the last month, the entire group contracted mild hypothermia due to the wet and windy conditions.
The walkers were then escorted by emergency workers down the mountain to safety.
Edale Mountain Rescue Team issued a ‘big thank you’ to The Old Nags Head pub which provided the three climbers with hot drinks and food.
