LETTER: Why won't our MP share his views on leader?

In response to the letter from Sir Alan Meale, the reason people want to know your opinion on the Labour leader debate is because you are a Labour MP.
Mansfield MP Sir Alan Meale.Mansfield MP Sir Alan Meale.
Mansfield MP Sir Alan Meale.

In fact, you are the locally elected Labour MP, in a predominantly Labour constituency.

So I am a bit confused as to why you would wonder why local people are asking their local MP about the party that he is a member of.

In your letter, you try to avoid the fact Labour is in leadership turmoil by pointing out that, at the time, the Conservatives and UKIP had their own leadership issues, but a week later the Conservatives have sorted out their leader.

So here’s what it makes me think.

I think you would rather keep out of the debate on the leadership of the Labour party.

You don’t want the local Labour party supporters and voters to know your opinions just in case you choose the wrong side of the Labour fence. You just sit on it and point in another direction to avoid the questions.

What do you think of the leadership of the Labour party? Does the Labour party need a new leader and if so who should that leader be?

I look forward to your reply.
