LETTER: Another great audience at St John’s concert

For the second time in two weeks St John’s Church were blessed with yet another good audience to see the second concert being staged on their premises.
Well-known local charity group Four to the Bar entertained at the concert with many well known musical numbers, whilst Fairfield Band played some resounding pieces that saw them achieve third place in the national finals only a few weeks ago.
Special guest Rob Stevens with his “witty” poems and velvet voice was well supported by the many people there but the stars of the show goes to six young girls from Buxton Community School making their very first public appearance, playing under their coach Sue Lucas-Woolley. They gave some wonderful renditions to the set pieces.
However the highlight of the evening was the performance of Four to the Bar and Fairfield Band playing together from the fantastic musical Les Miserables, the female accompaniment and male voices were well received with Charles Kitchen’s group from Fairfield.
A big thank you to all the entertainers from St John’s Church and the support of the audience.
